LECTURES / TUTORIAL/PRACTICAL
Week 5⇒ Trial Production Shooting
PRACTICAL
For our fifth week, we had a trial production shoot guided by Mr Martin. We were taught to use the cameras and the equipments to familiar ourselves for next week production shoot. The scenes for our next week's production shoot is about a movie "Everything Everywhere All At Once" therefore, we practised with the scenes from the movie. We were also been separated into groups and discussed about the roles for next week's production shoot.Week 6⇒ Production Shooting
PRACTICAL
For our sixth week, we had a production shoot on scenes of a movie "Everything Everywhere All At Once". I was given the role of Assistant D.O.PWeek 7⇒ Colour Grading
LECTURE
What is color correction?
- Color correction is a technical process that fixes color issues and makes footage appear as naturalistic as possible. The idea is for colors to look clean and real, as human eyes would see them in the real world.
What is color grading?
- Color grading is also technical, but it's more of a creative concern. The color grading process adds atmosphere and emotion to shots by coloring footage in new, often unnatural ways.
What is hue?
- Hue refers to the color itself, saturation refers to the intensity of the color, and brightness refers to the lightness or darkness of the color. HSB color theory is used to create mood and color schemes in films and videos.
What is saturation?
- Saturation is where the colors "pop" or become "muddy" depending on the amount of grey information in the color. Adding pure white or black to the color will result in a darker or lighter brightness value.
What is color brightness?
- Brightness refers to the level of light in your color. This determines the difference between, say, burgundy and candy apple.
The process of coloring digital video footage involves three main tasks
- Establishing a picture profile
- Color correcting the footage
- Color grading the footage
The basic color terms used in color grading software and cameras are
- Hue
- saturation
- Brightness (HSB)
Which coloring tools should I use?
- White Balance
- Scopes
- Curves
- Three-Way Corrector
- Color Qualifiers
- Color Masks
PROJECT 2⇒ SHOOTING PRACTICE AND EDITING
For this project, we are required to,
- Practice shooting with DSLR or smartphone, online/ offline editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Audition.
SHOOTING PRACTICE AND EDITING 1⇒ PRODUCTION SHOOTING

DAY OF SHOOTING
After preparing and familiarising the scenes, we kick start our production shooting on week 6. It's was quite a fun and knowledable experience as we get to experience how actual shooting was shoot.EDITING PROCESS
After that, I started editing the video clips and combining them into a video using Adobe Premiere Pro. To kick start, I added in the main clips and the voice track. I have a total of 4 tracks for the video. One main video clip track and 3 soundtracks. A1 is the voice actor and actress' voice track, A2 is the sound effect sound track while A3 is the background music.

SHOOTING PRACTICE AND EDITING 2⇒ TIK TOK/INSTAGRAM VIDEO
I wanted to create this blog as I saw it as an opportunity to document a part of my life and experiences as a design degree student. In my current age and stage of stepping into adulthood, I felt that the days of just being a carefree young adult are barely left, getting lesser and lesser by every second. Therefore, I tried to create vital memories in my last 3 years of my degree and treasure every moment dearly.
PROPOSAL & STORYBOARD
SHOOTING
After getting my proposal approved, I started my shooting journey. To have a kick start, I planned my shooting scenes and shooting location.EDITING PROCESS
After uploading everything in Google Drive, I filter the clips and chose the necessaries. I started to arrange and filter the clip again as well as crop the clip and combining them in Adobe Premiere Pro as the file size was too big to export in Capcut.
After finish editing the video, I exported the video to Capcut. I started to tune the scenes to be more smooth and added sound effects and background music. For instances, adding in hand snapping sound, punching effect, a chiller background music at the front part of the clips and a more anxious background music at the back clips. Besides, I also added transition to the video to make the scenes connect with each other. I also added some captions and a Ai voice to a part of the scene,
