The topic I chose to research on was the impact of HUD clutter towards user experience on game interface specifically on a game called Maplestory which I played since young. In the current generation, gaming has become an important ‘hobby’ for everyone as it is a platform for users to socialise and lets users temporarily get away from their stressful life. However, due to some specific issues like having a cluttered HUD user interface users are hindered from fully engaging with the game. Therefore, I conducted research on identifying and addressing accessibility barriers and HUD clutter within user interface (UI) in Maplestory so that players can fully participate and enjoy the user and game experiences.
I also started noticing the tiniest details as well as strength and weakness of an article which helped me improve my research approach and analytical skills. It’s like undercovering and levelling up my skills as a student designer and a researcher.

EXPERIENCE
Completing research methodology was quite a rewarding experience for me as I got to carry out my own study research and have a deeper understanding on how to do a good research. Throughout the process, I have conducted a lot of research so that I could apply the knowledge gained to my research. Starting a new research of my own was new and confusing at the start as I didn’t know where to begin or what to do. However, it quickly turned into a fascinating exploration of doing research and learning new knowledge. By refining and getting feedback as well as guidance from my lecturer, Ms Anis I learned and improved along the way.The topic I chose to research on was the impact of HUD clutter towards user experience on game interface specifically on a game called Maplestory which I played since young. OBSERVATION
I found out that we couldn’t just take any random articles on the web to assist in our research. Instead, websites like ResearchGate and Google Scholar were recommended by Ms Anis. Besides, I also discovered how to be more observant and info digestion from often reading articles and paragraphs of a zillion words during the researching process.I also started noticing the tiniest details as well as strength and weakness of an article which helped me improve my research approach and analytical skills. It’s like undercovering and levelling up my skills as a student designer and a researcher.
FINDINGS
One of the profound revelations during this learning experience was understanding the essential elements of conducting research is crucial for producing meaningful and reliable results. For instance, choosing an appropriate methodology where I need to decide between qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods or determine how to gather the necessary data. As a result throughout the 14 weeks, I have gained knowledge and skills to analyse as well as complete a whole research.
