REFLECTION

EXPERIENCES

Learning Film Studies & Cinematography was quite a rewarding experience for me as I get to enhanced my animating as well as editing skills and have a deeper understanding on films. Starting a new module on Film Studies & Cinematography was like entering a secret world that I never existed. At first, I had little to none of the knowledge on how to do animations. However, it quickly evolved into an immersive experience of visual discovery.

I felt a bit confusing at first, figuring out how to draw the scenes or objects to make the projects interesting. However by practicing and getting feedbacks from my lecturer, Mr Kamal, I learned and improved on the way.

OBSERVATIONS

I found out that Film Studies & Cinematography isn't just about films or movies. It's about creating a creative piece that attract the attention of viewers. For example, I used my own drawings to create a storyboard, carefully planning each scene’s composition, angles and lighting. These sketches helped visualize how the story would unfold, ensuring that every shot effectively conveyed the intended emotions and kept the audience engaged. Besides, I also discover how creating and editing from scratches without professional skills is possible.

I also started noticing film video more. For instance, paying attentions to educational short videos and marketing videos. It's like undercovering or seeing something I once didn't even pay a slightest attention to even though it was there all along.

FINDINGS

One of the most profound revelations during this learning experience was understanding the power of Film Studies & Cinematography holds in sending out messages to the viewers. Film Studies & Cinematography are not mere animation scenes, it's about using composition and creativity to manipulate and enhance visuals in a way that communicates effectively. From enhancing animations to editings, each technique in Film Studies contributes to the overall visual story.
